Class Battle in Lansing, Michigan

Yesterday at the "state of the state" address in Lansing, Michigan, by Gov. Granholm the forces of the "final conflict" came into contradiction. The Moratorium Now! Coalition came to demand that Gov. Granholm enact the Moratorium law to halt foreclosures. They were joined by student activists in the "By Any Means Neccessary" organization. Among these demonstrations were Marxist-Leninists from Workers World Party, and radicals associated with the Revolutionary Worker's League.


However, they were countered by the "Constitutional Militia" and the "Michigan Taxpayers Alliance" who distributed literature about the "jewish plot to destroy America" and the necessity of forming armed bands to terrorize immigrant workers and leftists.

The conflict ensued, and as these two enemies of the status quo, some who sought to build a radical future, and others were sought to reinforce the powerful people's war against oppressed people became heated in exchanges. As one can see in the video below, the police attempted to shut down the leftist protesters, and allow the ultra-rights to continue. However, the ultra-right was drowned out.
