The Forgotten Reality of Socialist Realism: Visual Art
Socialist Realist Art has been given a derogatory reputation. Socialist Realism was not overwhelmingly dominated by images of Stalin, Lenin, Castro, and Mao's faces. Socialist Realism is in my opinion, in many ways rooted in Romanticism, however it is an anti-establishment Romanticism, as opposed to the reactionary romanticism championed by Nazism.
Socialist Realism, including its paintings need to be re-examined rather than dismissed by those who wish to understand art history.

Hi, please don't call me names. Other than that, say what's on your mind.
If you don't have a user name click on "other", and put down whatever the heck you want to call yourself.
Or put anonymous...
